Connecting with Workato

Connecting with Workato

ISO2HANDLE can contain all kinds of information. What you don't want as an organization is to double register things..It is therefore necessary that you can connect ISO2HANDLE with numerous other systems that you already have as a user. For example, you can automatically enter projects from your CRM into your ISO2HANDLE environment or forward notifications from another system to ISO2HANDLE so that you can enrich them with workflows, charts and tasks. How to do this, you can read in this article.

What is Workato?

Workato is a platform coupling system. There are many systems that people want to connect. Today, more and more systems are cloud solutions. For example, most companies have an accounting package (in the cloud), a CRM (in the cloud), an HRM system (in the cloud) and so numerous industry-specific systems. As soon as a system works wholly or partly in the cloud, it is possible for the manufacturer of such a system to add an API. An API can be seen as a pass-through hatch. A door with a doorbell where you can knock and ask for data. Or, which allows you to provide data.
Previously, you then needed a programmer who would make the link between the API of system A and the API of system B.
This is also possible at ISO2HANDLE, because we also have aWell-documented APIhave.
But what works a lot cheaper and faster is to connect systems through a platform such as Workato. Supplier A has already made a link to Workato and supplier B as well. You, as a user, can then click together the link you want with simple plug-and-play.
Without the intervention of expensive programmers.
Workato is a coupling program and there are more. We will soon also have a link with Zapier which is a competitor of Workato.
What is the difference? Zapier is slightly cheaper, but Workato can be hosted in Europe.

Which apps can I connect to?

If you use Workato, you have the choice of about 1000 apps.
Which ones are, you can find here:https://www.workato.com/integrations

How do I make a link?

The first thing you need to do is create an API key set in your ISO2HANDLE environment.
To do this by going to: settings -> Apps -> API keys

Here you click on generate API key after which youClient IDand oneClient Secretgets.
Save them well, because you will not see them again.

Then you create an account onhttps://workato.com
Once logged in, create a "Recipe".
Here you choose the "Trigger". This can be another app, for example when a project is added to your CRM system, but this can also be a timed feature. For example, you can check or perform something every day.
As soon as you say, my trigger is something that happens in another application, then he asks you to connect to it.
The same money for the follow-up actions. Suppose the trigger is, a project is added in 4PS and the action is then, create a registration in our projects form in ISO2HANDLE, then you have to make a connection to ISO2HANDLE.

Connecting to ISO2HANDLE

The first thing you do is add the ISO2HANDLE app in your recipe:

Then choose the action you want to take. For example, adding a form registration:

Then you connect to your ISO2HANDLE environment.
You need 3 variables. YouClient ID, youClient Secretand youTenantId.
You got the first two variables in a previous step. The tentantId is the piece of environment URL that stands for ".cloud.iso2handle.com".
E.g. "test customer" as your URLhttps://test-klant.cloud.iso2handle.comis.
If you have entered this data correctly, you can connect after which the connection has been established:

From that moment on, you can indicate which information should go to which form.
You need to fill in the form ID.You can find out this ID by copying the last part of the form link. You can find this in the settings tab in the form.

You can then specify which dates to enter the registration:

It is important to know that the information must be in the "Content" object. If you don't see it, click on "+6 optional fields available" and check the content variably.

Testing

Once you have done this, you can test your recipe.
Click on "Save" at the top and then on "Test recipe".

You will probably need to add a project in 4PS during the test so that it enters Workato and he will continue it to ISO2HANDLE.
However, the possibilities are endless and so are the conceivable use cases.
