Duplicate Template's

Duplicate Template's

Intro

In the template editor you can duplicate a template. This can save a lot of time because you do not have to re-add all the steps. Duplicating a template can be done in two ways and in this article we explain how that works.

Duplicating

To duplicate a template, click on the button "Copy to new template"

As soon as you do this, you will see the following popup:

In this popup you can give your new template a new name. In addition, you can choose the new author and specify how you want to duplicate the steps.

Method 1: A new template with new steps.

If you create a new template with new steps, then
  1. Duplicates the template
  2. He duplicates all steps.
It then hangs these new steps under the new template after which you have created a duplicate
You can check this by looking at the steps in the left column

In the left column you can see all the steps that are in this template. At each step you can see under which templates it hangs. In this case, all steps hang under one template. Our new "Manual" template.

Method 2: A new template with existing steps.

If you enter "No" under "Is this a new template with your own steps", then
  1. Duplicates the template
  2. He links the existing steps in the same order under the new template.
In this case you will get a new template, but the steps are the same steps as were present in the previous template.
So if you edit such a step, you edit it in both templates.
You can check this by looking in the left column:

Here you can see the steps that are part of your template. But what you see is that all these steps are not only in "Manual V2", but also in "Manual". Our original manual.

Tips

Note; If one step has blue letters, it means that it is linked to another step. In other words, he shares the completed answers (at the front) with those of another step. This causes confusion if you do not pay attention to this.
