The tile dashboard

The tile dashboard

Intro

When users log in to your management system, it is very important that they can immediately find what they were looking for. We therefore create a tile dashboard for the user so that when he logs in, he sees tiles directly to the most commonly used functions.
In addition, different departments use different functions and want to monitor other things. You can therefore also add tabs so that you can create your own tab for each department. Finally, you can also hide certain tiles from certain user groups. This allows the dashboard to be modularly set up.

Setting up a tile dashboard

To set up a tile dashboard, you first need a manual. If you don't have this one yet, thenCreate it with the manual editor.
If you have a manual, open the manual editor:

  1. You then click on the settings button at the top right and then go to the tabDashboards
  2. Here you click onAdd. He then adds a dashboard drive that you can expand by clicking on it.
  3. Once you do this, you can change the type of dashboard toTile dashboard.
You can also give a title. This title is used in the menu to go to this dashboard.
  4. Close the popup by clicking onSaveAnd save the manual.
As soon as you change the browser, you will find underDashboardsYour dashboard:

Once you do this, you will be in editing mode of your tile dashboard.

This allows you to adjust all kinds of settings such as:
  1. Title: This is the name of the dashboard as it appears in the left menu
  2. Icon: You can give your dashboard an icon for recognition
  3. Color: This color is used in combination with the icon
  4. Number of columns: From Professional suite it is possible to have more than 4 columns. These columns target the number of columns that the grid has in which tiles are placed. In the example above, the dashboard has 6 columns and each tile uses 2 columns width.
  5. Is mobile dashboard: Once you activate this, your dashboard will appear in the app. You can have multiple tile dashboards, but you can only do oneMobileTile dashboard
  6. Full screen: Normally there is room between the left menu and the top menu and the tile dashboard. If you do not want to do this, because you want to make maximum use of the available space, you can turn it off.

Add tabs

Once your dashboard is set up, you can add tabs. This is not necessarily necessary, but is generally useful.
Usually the first tab is a kind of "Home" tab. This is the first thing people see when they log in and so it usually sets tiles that refer to the most commonly used features. Like reporting an issue. Starting a toolbox or showing certain procedures.
In addition, tabs are often added for certain departments.
What's interesting here is the fact that you can hide tiles from people who are not in a certain group.
And if a user is not allowed to see any tile on a tab, he won't see the entire tab.
That way you can make your dashboard modular.
