Duplicate manuals

Duplicate manuals

Intro

In the manual editor you can duplicate a manual. This can save a lot of time because it does not have to add all the pages again. Duplicating a manual can be done in two ways and in this article we explain how that works.

Duplicating

To duplicate a manual, click the button with the duplicate icon in the manual editor:

As soon as you do this, you will see the following popup:

In this popup you can rename your new manual.
In addition, you can choose the new author and indicate how you want to duplicate the pages.

Method 1: A new manual with new pages

If you create a new manual with new pages,

  • He duplicates the manual.

  • He duplicates all the pages.

He hangs these new pages under the new manual after which you created a duplicate.

You can check this by looking in the right column. You can see that the pages are only linked to the manual
Marc's test handbook #3

Method 2: A new manual with existing pages

If you are at Is this a new manual with your own pages? Fill in "no," then

  • He duplicates the manual.

  • He links the existing pages in the same order under the new manual.

In this case, you get a new manual, but the pages are the same pages as were present in the previous manual.
So if you edit such a page, you edit it in both manuals.

You can check this by looking in the right column:

Here are the pages that are part of your manual. But what you see is that some of these pages are not just in Marc's handbook sitting, but also in Marc's handbook #2.

In other words, he shares the completed answers (fill in the end users) with those of another page.
So you have two different pages, but they share their answers. Learn more here.
