With a file upload field, you can have a user upload files into your registration. This can be a single file but can also be multiple files. These can be photos, documents, presentations, videos or Excel sheets and can also be uploaded directly from the camera app on the mobile phone. How to set this up and what other options there are in the file upload field, we explain in this article.

1: A file upload field
In the editor, you can add a file upload field by choosing the field type "upload file" and clicking on "Add field". As soon as you do this, a standard file upload field will appear. In this field, users can add 1 file of any type:
If you do this, you will first be given the choice whether toNew fileDo you want to upload or do youPreviously uploaded fileI want to choose from the library:
If you want to upload a new file, you can do so with the following popup:
Here you choose your file, the type of the file and who can access the file.
Once you have done this, you will see the attached file as follows:
Here you can see the preview of the file if you click on the name of the file. In addition, you can upload a new version of the file by clicking the yellow button or extracting the file from this registration by clicking on the cross.
Watch out;Every file you upload goes to your file library. So if you disconnect the file here by means of the cross, the file can still be found in your file library. In addition, he automatically places files that you upload in "form A", automatically in a folder in the file library called "Form A".
Watch out;If you click on the yellow button, you can upload a new version of this file that automatically replaces the old version. The old version can always be found later in the file library.

3: Other institutions
When you click on the green pen of the file field, the settings open popup. Once you go here to theValueIf tab goes, you have the choice of the following options:
File type
This allows you to ensure that a user can only upload images, documents, or videos. You can choose from the following options:
- All file types
- Pictures
- Documenten
- Videos
- Audio files
Upload camera mode
This allows you to tell the device which camera it should use. This is useful when, for example, you create a mobile form with a file upload field in which the user can upload images. On a mobile device, he then gets the opportunity to select an existing photo or to take a new photo. If you select an upload camera mode, the device jumps directly to the camera and uses the camera you indicated (back camera or front camera).
Skip library choice
It is possible that your form must be filled in on the mobile phone where people practically only attach new files / photos. Choosing whether the user wants to add a file from his device or from the file library is then a bit unnecessary. It is always from his cell phone. It is therefore possible to remove this choice. You can do this by editing the file and in theValue institutionsThe optionSave library choiceAbout onYesto put.
Pre-select user groups
By default, the person who uploads a file can choose who is allowed to access the file. The idea here is that a user can determine this for the groups under his own group. This means that an administrator can determine whether a manager is allowed to see the file, but not whether another administrator or consultant can see the file (For more information here, read the article
File Management and Library.
